IMPORTANT NOTICES/ANNOUNCEMENTS

Colorado County is no longer under a burn ban as of 8:00 a.m. January 27, 2026. Colorado County Emergency Management requests that prior to starting any controlled burning (woodpiles, fields or large refuse piles), please call the Colorado County Communications Center at 979-732-2388, option 1. They will ask you for the location and a contact number. By doing this you will help prevent the needless dispatching of volunteer fire departments and will also receive information if a Burn Ban or Red Flag Warning is in place. Colorado County Offices and buildings will be closed February 16 in observance of Presidents' Day.
Road Closure, Precinct 3: Reichardt Road will be closed to thru traffic starting December 3 and will be closed for approximately 6 months for bridge replacement at the San Bernard River (Austin County line at beginning of Frantz Road).

Budget and Tax Rate Information

COLORADO COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 5.21% AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $22.25.
