• BURN BAN IN EFFECT FOR COLORADO COUNTY:  Colorado County is currently under a Burn Ban. Outdoor burning is hereby immediately restricted in the unincorporated areas of the county as follows click here to view the current Ban Order. 
  
  
• Colorado County offices and buildings will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024, in observance of Columbus Day.
  
  
• NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE IN PRECINCT NO.  1: EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE COUNTY ROAD 112 @ BUCKSNAG CREEK is closed due to bridge construction.  Use County Road 167 as an alternate route.

COLORADO COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE.  THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 6.554% AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $28.61.

The Colorado County Hazard Mitigation Plan is under going review and needed changes as required every 5 years.  Due to COVID and grant funding issues, we are a little behind, but moving forward.  Part of the review process is getting public input concerning the plan and information that folks may have that need to be included.
